As a former financial advisor and the previous co-founder of The Money Couple, I bring my unique financial planning background and expertise in couples communication to help you feel more comfortable and confident navigating the long list of money decisions that come up throughout the home renovation and design process.
When we were The Money Couple, my husband and I impacted couples nationwide by teaching them how to speak the same love and money language. We wrote five books together and made local and national radio and TV appearances on major outlets, including CNN and Fox News. Our latest best-selling book, The 5 Money Personalities, gave couples the tools to identify and understand their different money approaches, so they could avoid arguments and find a way to work together to achieve their financial goals. If you’re taking on a home renovation as a couple, no doubt I’ll be using this skill set to help you, too!
While my husband and I sold The Money Couple business in 2017 so I could pursue my passion for interior design, I continue to tap into this expertise to help my clients make savvy design investments that are aligned with their values and lifestyle, stay organized and focused on their goals (my spreadsheet game is still going strong!), and avoid renovation relationship stress.
There’s SO much more to a successful design project than picking out furniture and tiles. Beyond being your creative guide on this journey, my goal is to help you get the most out of your design investment and make your home improvement journey as fun, exciting, and joyful as it has the potential to be!
Bethany’s boundless creativity and optimism have helped us troubleshoot every obstacle we’ve faced flipping houses, allowing us to simplify even the most complex design problems. She has an incredible eye for detail, noticing when a rug needs to be two inches smaller to give a space better flow and visual appeal. Her designs are elegant but livable, modern yet timeless, and always infused with warmth. Bethany has a gift for layering details and textures to make every space unique to the homeowners, and with her financial planning background, is dedicated to helping her clients invest in the design elements they value most. I’m so grateful for the fun-loving energy and organizational skills she brings to every project!”
Leave excuses at the door and show up for others. Stand by your word and stay faithful to your promises. Don’t just dream it, do it! No obstacle or challenge is insurmountable when you’re focused forward.
Whether it’s fixing a chipped tile, returning a chair, or installing a towel holder, the job isn’t over until every single detail is accounted for, no matter how small. Good follow-through is just good customer service!
Listen to other perspectives, incorporate feedback, and learn to adapt and grow as you go. Being a know-it-all is never the goal. Always show humility and call other people in to share their ideas and expertise.
While it took all the strength and courage I had to win the battle against breast cancer, something good did come out of my experience. It brought me closer to my family and my faith—and it created a searing sense of urgency in our lives. So many of us spend years waiting for the perfect timing or circumstances to make our dreams happen. But it’s true what they say: We never know how long we have on this earth, so it’s up to us to go for it and create the life we want today instead of someday!
Being a wife and mom are my two greatest joys in life. My husband, Scott, always makes me laugh and leads our family with God at the helm. Our two sons, Cole and Cade, never cease to amaze us. Cole attends and plays football for the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA). Cade, our youngest, has committed to attending USAFA and playing football as well. Pinch us...two kids serving their country AND playing Division 1 football!
Real estate runs in my family’s veins! When I’m not designing fabulous interiors, I’m flipping and building houses over at Sister Homes, the company I co-own with my sister-in-law. We have so much fun turning our flips into homes with heart! These projects have taught me everything I know about construction loans and remodel investment—and I get to share that knowledge with my interior design clients, too.
Positive energy is contagious—and I love to spread mine! So you’ll often find me enjoying a design launch with clients, cheering on my boys from the sidelines at football games, volunteering in my community and church, and sending weekly win emails to my clients to celebrate our progress. For me, going out of my way to brighten someone’s day is always a joy, never a chore.
